On 11 November Team Senator’s Crewing Managers Capt. Carlo Bonoan and Capt. Paul Xavier Francia, along with General Manager and Director Capt. Gilbert G. Garci, and Marketing Officer Martina Suyer, attended this year’s Ratings Conference arranged by Columbia Shipmanagement and hosted by Senior Crewing Superintendent Rina Denise Calahatian.
Held at the Sequoia Hotel in Parañaque, Philippines, the event was graced by esteemed speakers and guests, including Stewart Bankier, Director of Crewing Training; Capt. Dante Jerusalem, Deputy QSHE Manager/Consultant CSM Manila; and OWWA Officer-In-Charge of Repatriation and Assistance Division, Atty. Falconi “Ace” Millar. Unfaltering and educational speeches were given by the speakers, highlighting several points and their importance: Seafarers’ adherence to the Code of Conduct, following safety measures while aboard to achieve zero accidents or loss of life, and seafarers’ benefits from OWWA.
The Ratings Conference is conducted annually by Columbia Shipmanagement to further strengthen principal-crew relationships by giving updates regarding their future projects and plans for the betterment of crew welfare, as well as arranging refresher training during the event – truly, a manifestation of CSM that they care.
