The CSM Senior Office Conference commenced on 12 November at Okada Manila and was attended by the General Manager and Director, Capt. Gilbert Garcia, and Social Media Officer, Maxine Francisco. The Senior Officers of Team Senator also took part in the said two-day conference.
The event aims to provide our crew with knowledge on safety and mental awareness. Mr. Darren Ryan (Chief Operating Officer, Rightship) discussed RightShip, which is the world’s leading ESG-focused maritime platform, driving operational improvements and safety standards. He explained the importance of inspecting every ship and how they rate them to have a safety score so that the crew would not be at risk when they board the ship. Another presenter was Ms. Karen Ibanez (Clinical Psychologist, MHSS) who tackled mental health and how important it is to be a leader. She also talked about how we must break the stigma of a man feeling less of a man for asking for help and seafarers being affected by their emotions.
