Our company, Crewing (Manila), Inc. (SCM) recognizes individual’s privacy seriously. Our Privacy Policy refers to our commitment to treat information with utmost care and confidentiality. With this policy, we ensure that we gather, use, store, share, handle data fairly and transparently and with respect towards individual rights.

What information we collect

We respect the right to privacy of all visitors to our website. We do not collect information from the visitors on our website except if you choose to apply. In our Job Inquiry, personal information relating to pre-employment assessment is collected. Information collected will be used solely for pre-evaluation as per applicant’s qualification as to documents, sea service and open position in the company.

For successful applicants and returning crew, information and copy of documents related to processing of documents for deployment are collected. This information pertains to crew’s personal data, next of kin, education, sea service records, travel documents, licenses- local and flag state and/or STCW training and upgrading course certificates.

What do we do with the information we collect

Information collected is used for processing of documents including referring to medical clinics for pre-employment medical examination, visa applications, foreign flag licenses and documents, deployment processing with POEA and other relevant government agencies and flight booking arrangements.

Sharing of collected information

During the entire pre-joining process, personal data may/will be disclosed by the company to its principal, and third-party supplier/sub-contractors, some of whom may be located outside of the Philippines in order to facilitate the deployment of the seafarer in compliance with national and international statutory and regulatory requirements.

Retention

The company retains documents containing personal and sensitive information for a period of five (5) years from crew’s last sign-off date. After which his documents will be taken out of the system. E-records will be put to archive which can only be accessed by key personnel/s and protected by passcode. Hard copies will be shredded.
