On Saturday, November 10, thousands of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) gathered at The Tent in Las Piñas along with their families for the 12th OFW and Family Summit with this year’s summit theme is “Masaganang Kabuhayan Para sa OFWs at Families.” Among those in attendance for Senator Crewing Manila was Ms. Gianelli Manchete, our Family and Crew Welfare Officer. She participated in the event to witness and gain insights from the speakers, aiming to bring valuable knowledge back to benefit our company and crew.
The Villar Family organized this event as an expression of gratitude to Filipino OFWs and their families who played a crucial role in sustaining our country’s economy amid the global crisis. Senator Cynthia Villar, a strong advocate for OFWs, expressed during her speech the intention behind this yearly activity. She aims to empower migrant workers by providing knowledge about investing their hard-earned money, guiding them in creating businesses that will prove beneficial in their retirement.
Various panelists from both public and private sectors were invited to share insights about their businesses and offer advice to those planning to start their own ventures. Ms. Manchete will also be extending invitations to share her experiences with our seafarers and their families, providing them with opportunities to pursue and achieve their dreams.
