CrewConnect Global 2023

CREWCONNECT Global has returned to Manila for its 24th edition, featuring a comprehensive and engaging program. The event includes a panel of speakers, comprising both local and international crewing experts and professionals, engaging in discussions on notable trends affecting the global manning industry.

The three-day event took place from the 21st to the 23rd of November at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. CREWCONNECT Global stands as the world’s largest manning conference concentrating on contemporary developments affecting seafarers, the conference addresses issues such as mental health, well-being, technology, recruitment, training at sea, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.

Various Filipino and international speakers were invited to share valuable insights, expertise, and essential strategies aimed at helping the industry navigate and overcome current and future challenges in seafaring. Among the Filipino speakers was Ms. Maria Antonia Loyzaga-Yulo, Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

In conclusion, as the Senator Crewing Manila begins to delve into the cruise industry, the second day of the event featured a carefully curated set of sessions concentrating on crewing, retention, and the training of seafarers specifically for cruise vessels. This presents an excellent opportunity for the Senator to gain insights and adopt practices that will undoubtedly prove beneficial for the company.

Captain Garcia participated in the event and conveyed his joy at reuniting with former shipmates, colleagues, clients, and, for the first time, meeting new LinkedIn connections in person—all in a day filled with meaningful and genuine conversations.

Engaging in discussions about business with like-minded individuals was enjoyable, and Captain Garcia found it refreshing to explore innovative trends in manpower recruitment with Gen Z seafarers, he remarked.
