Senator had an eventful month, dedicating efforts to prepare for the visit of CSM’s top management. During the month of November, SCM actively participated in two seminars: CSM ratings at Kingsford Hotel and the Senior Officers seminar at Hilton Hotel. Additionally, the top management of Columbia Shipmanagement, led by CEO Mark O’Niel paid a visit to SCM Headquarters for the first time. Mark expressed his delight during the office and facilities tour.
Morever, CSM Manila successfully hosted three-day event from November 21st to 23rd , featuring the Ratings Seminar at Kingsford Hotel and the Senior Officers conference at Hilton Manila. The event garnered the participation of over 70 seafarers, covering a diverse range of topics such as technical matters, stop-work authority and safety campaigns, insurance and claims, right ship inspection, the new vessel inspection regime SIRE 2.0, mental health, coping with loss and suicide, and environmental compliance.
Among the notable attendees from Senator during the Ratings seminar were Chief Engineer Legaspi, Captain Francia, Crew Operator Ms. Rex, Ms. Kianah, and Ms. Cassy from the recruitment team, Third Engineer Borbor, and Captain Bonoan. For the Senior Officers conference, Chief Engineer and Third Engineer Borbor represented Senator.
Our seafarers, alongside their families, conveyed their pleasure at being invited to this outstanding event. They not only acquired valuable knowledge but also enjoyed a meaningful get-together with their colleagues.
It proved to be a busy yet a fruitful month with activity and accomplishments for Team Senator.
